Nahm & Cliffy

6 12 2012

We’ve named two of the rufous-tailed hummingbirds (Amazilia tzacatl) who frequent our “watering hole” Nahm and Cliffy.

These two are our daily regulars, but we can get up to 5 at a time a couple of times a week – always rufous-tailed hummingbirds.  We’re still waiting to see when some other hummingbird besides a rufous-tailed will stop by, perhaps with the change in seasons….

Don’t get me wrong…we’re happy to be entertained by these li’l fellows.  They are quite the “sword-fighters”. We need to make sure that we are thankful for what we do have and not complaining about what we don’t.

Jill Carattini of RZIM writes: “If being thankful is by nature being aware and appreciative and expressive of gratitude toward someone or something beyond us, complaining is refusing to see anything but ourselves.”

“In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18

“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all.  Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone. Now therefore, our God, we thank You, and praise Your glorious name.”

~ 1 Chronicles 29: 11-13

“ Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the nations, And I will sing praises to Your name.”

~ 2 Samuel 22:50
